Music contracts, music contract

Contracts control every aspect of the music business so that there is no confusion as to who does what and what their compensation is.  With so many entities involved in making the band having written contracts alleviates much confusion.

When you book a live performance gig, you should always have a contract in place between the club/venue and your band.

Finding a manager can be a daunting task but once you find one a contract will be needed to spell out the terms and conditions of what you manager will do for you.

Often considered the Holy Grail by musicians and bands looking to break into the music business, you have to understand what a record contract is before you sign it.

You played a gig at your local nightclub and when it comes time for payment the owner of the club refuses to pay you or paid you less than what was agreed upon.  What do you do?
